Vehicle testing and weighbridges
Our vehicle testing station carries out all vehicle inspections on hackney carriages and private hire vehicles we license, and taxis licensed by Oadby and Wigston council. The station also offers MOTs to the public.
Vehicle test bookings
Bookings must be paid for in advance and a minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancellations. Fees are reviewed in April each year. To make a booking please contact us on the number below.

Weighbridges
Weighbridges are used to weigh vehicles and whilst most are for private use some are available for public use.
These weighbridges are known as public weighbridges and the operators have been approved by Trading Standards as public weighbridge operators. This means that they can weigh vehicles for members of the public, for example weighing their caravans for them, although they are entitled to charge a fee for this service.
