Apply for a junior school place

Apply for a junior school place here if your child is transferring from an infant school (Year 2) to a junior School (Year 3) in autumn 2021 and you live in Leicester City.

Use all your preferences

It is important to get lots of information before deciding on your preferred schools and the order you would like to put them on your application. We will offer you the highest preferred school if your child qualifies for a place here, so please consider your order of preferences carefully.

Deadline for applications

Apply before the Friday 15 January 2021 deadline. Otherwise your application will be considered as late and may mean you are offered a school much further away than your preferred ones.

What happens next?

You will receive an email once you have submitted your application. It is important to check carefully that you have received this and that it confirms your application has been fully submitted. If your application is not fully submitted, it will be considered as late.

We will send offers of places to those who applied on time on 16 April 2021.

Making changes to your application

You can make changes to your application right up to the deadline, 15 January 2021, but if you do make a change you must remember to re-submit your application. If you do not your application may be considered as late.

What if I need help?

If you need help with making an application, please email us at admissions.online@leicester.gov.uk or call us on 0116 454 1009 (option 1) and we will do our best to assist you. Your child’s current school may also be able to help with applying.
