Concessionary travel for unemployed people

Unfortunately, due to coronavirus this scheme is suspended until further notice.

A concessionary travel pass is available for Leicester city residents who are registered unemployed, to help them seek work.

The pass entitles you to half fare travel by bus. It is valid for a four-week period and costs £1.

You can download an application form at the bottom of the page. Once you have completed the first half of the form, you need to get it stamped at the Jobcentre where you sign on, and then bring it to one of our customer service centres.

To renew, simply follow procedure every four weeks, and present your old card when you collect your new one.

There is no similar scheme for people who live outside the city of Leicester.

What services can it be used on?

Passes can be used on all local bus services in Leicestershire and the city of Leicester.

They can also be used if one end of your journey is in the above area, and the other is no further afield than one of the following:
