Saffron Hill Cemetery
Saffron Hill is one of our largest cemeteries, serving the south of Leicester. It is in Stonesby Avenue, close to the A563 southern ring road.
The cemetery has the general burial area for traditional and lawn graves, a small Polish burial area, cremation plots and memorial roses, a children’s section and the Muslim cemetery with prayer house.
There is seating for 65 people with standing room.
The Muslim prayer house, or jannazah, is the only one of its kind in Europe, and our Muslim burial system has become a model for many other providers.
Saffron Hill Cemetery is listed as a park and garden of special historic interest (Grade II).
