Living wage

We have signed an agreement with the Living Wage Foundation to become a Living Wage employer.

Since 1 December 2015, we have paid our staff at least the voluntary living wage. The most recent Living Wage Week saw the amount raised to £8.45 per hour.

Wherever possible, we will expect our contractors to pay the living wage to the relevant staff working on council contracts too.

Living Wage Commitment

We have a living wage plan that supports our commitment to the Living Wage Foundation.

This commitment outlines the process for us to become a fully compliant living wage employer by 2020, and highlights the separate approach that will be taken for social care contracts.
