Grants for electric vehicles

To create healthier air for Leicester, we are offering organisations the opportunity to apply for the Leicester Low Carbon Transport Accelerator Grant. The scheme is part-funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

What’s the aim?

The purpose of the grant scheme is to reduce annual carbon emissions in the city. Having more Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the city.

Before applying

Applicants must provide evidence that they have purchased a vehicle and paid for it from their own bank account before grant funds can be released.

Each application form along with the any supporting information required to satisfy the terms and conditions is required on application. Multiple application forms from one organisation are invited by applications may be refused during initial assessment stage if any State Aid issues arise.

Before applying, we advise you to read the full guidance notes (PDF).

Who can apply?

The grant scheme is open to any organisation that extensively uses specified vehicles in Leicester and is based in the Leicester or Leicester Economic (LLEP) area.

Applications are invited from all organisations which can demonstrate through the application form and subsequent annual returns, that annual carbon emission savings are achieved. To be eligible all applicants must satisfy the terms and conditions of the grant. Individual grants are available to help with the cost of buying a new Ultra Low Emission vehicle.

The amount of grant available depends on the carbon saving that will be achieved by changing to an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle.
