Learning or re-learning skills
You can get short-term support, which helps you to complete day-to-day tasks on your own, including re-learning any lost skills.
You might need this supportĀ if you have been discharged from hospital, or if you live at home, but need some help with daily living activities.
This support is called reablement, and can help you with:
- Hygiene and personal care, for example washing and dressing
- Food and nutrition, for example cooking and making drinks
- Mobility.
In traditional social care, someone would visit you and do these tasks for you. With reablement, we will work with you so that you can learn or re-learn important tasks you need for everyday life.
Who can access the support?
You have to be assessed to see whether you are eligible. The supportĀ is free for up to six weeks, after which, charges will apply.
