1000 Tweaks to Feeling Great

1000 Tweaks to Feeling Great aims to motivate people in Leicester to make small manageable changes to their lifestyles that will make it easier for children to live more healthily.

How can I take part?

We're calling on everyone to get involved in this campaign and pledge to make a small tweak to their lifestyle – young people, parents and grandparents, local businesses, communities, organisations, healthcare professionals, schools and teachers.

A tweak is small and simple. Below are a few examples:

  • Parents and grandparents might pledge to be a good role model, cut out fizzy drinks and replace with water or milk, visit your local park more often or make a family favourite healthy recipe together.
  • A café or restaurant may pledge to reduce the portion size of meals, which are high in fat or sugar content or promote their healthier options. 
  • A public building might pledge to have free water easily available to visitors.
  • A school may pledge to start The Daily Mile.
