Guidance for supporting those who are clinically extremely vulnerable
Everyone in Leicester must follow the new Tier 3 restrictions which came into effect on 2 December.
What happens if my child is classed as clinically extremely vulnerable?
If your child is classed as clinically extremely vulnerable, they are required to remain at home.
If your child is in this group, you will previously have received a letter from the NHS or from your GP telling you this.
Where a pupil is unable to attend school because they are complying with clinical and/or public health advice, schools will provide them with access to remote education. Where children are not able to attend school in this situation, absence will be authorised.
Does my child need to go to school if someone in the household is clinically extremely vulnerable?
Where a child is living in the household of a parent, carer or adult who is clinically extremely vulnerable, the child should continue to attend school. Please speak to your school if you have concerns regarding travel arrangements for your child to attend school.
The child and other family members should continue to follow stringent social distancing measures while at school/work.
This may not be possible for very young children and older children without the capacity to adhere to the instructions on social distancing.
