What do I do if my child's class or group is asked to isolate?

If you have a child at school and they are sent home because there’s been a confirmed case within the school, your child must isolate for 10 days, even if they don’t display any symptoms.

Your child's school will provide you with a letter to confirm what action is required and will make you aware of any home school arrangements they have put into place.

During the isolation period, your child:

Must remain at home
Must not attend any childcare, out of school provision, activity groups or clubs
Should only take a COVID test if they are displaying symptoms, or instructed to do so by a health professional
If a test is taken and is negative, your child must still complete the full 10 days isolation. This is because the test only tells you if the virus has been detected on that day. Symptoms/the virus may develop after the test has been taken, later in the 10 day period

The rest of the household do not need to isolate, unless someone in the household develops symptoms.
