College transport for 16-18 year olds
We do not provide any free travel assistance for 16-18 year old pupils. If you want to travel to college via either First or Arriva, you will need to contact them directly.
Apply for a bus pass
To provide pupils with more bus travel options, we have worked with bus operators to provide a new, competitively priced flexi-ticket.
The flexi-tickets are available on-bus and, for the first time in Leicester, on mobile apps. Pupils with a flexi-ticket can travel on bus services provided by several different bus companies operating in Leicester and the surrounding urban area.
Full detail of the bus operators, ticket options and prices can be found at Choose how you move - bus fare and tickets
Parents and children can also plan their bus journeys using the Choose How You Move journey
Want to travel with First or Arriva?
The cheapest option is likely to be buying a bus pass from them directly:
I'd like a bus pass with both providers
If the student needs to use both First and Arriva to get to school/college, we offer a joint provider bus pass. This would cost £490 a year for the 2019/20 academic year. Travel is restricted to college days only and the students specified route. To be eligible to buy a pass you must:
- live in Leicester, and;
- be aged between 16 and 18 at the start of the college year
Follow the quick link above to apply and pay for a joint provider bus pass.
I've lost my bus pass
If you've lost your bus pass, please contact Leicestershire County Council on 0116 305 0002. There may be a small charge for replacing the pass.
