Housing applications

Rent for tenants

With effect from 1 April 2020, the rent for council properties will increase.

Tenants' and leaseholders' forum

The tenants' and leaseholders' forum is made up of 13 tenants and two leaseholder representatives from across the city.

The forum holds six meetings per year (bi-monthly), on the last Thursday of the month between 1pm and 4pm. These meetings are to discuss issues affecting all our housing tenants and leaseholders.

Members work closely with senior managers within the housing department, and are consulted before key decisions are made. This includes the annual rent-setting decision, and major projects.

The forum also has a scrutiny role, looking at current services and making recommendations for improvements.

Forum representatives

The forum has representatives from across the city. There are currently four vacancies in the forum, one for each of the following area's mentioned below, and a lease holder.

  • Braunstone
  • Centre
  • Eyres Monsell
  • Mowmacre Hill or Beaumont Leys (requires only one person).

If you are interested in becoming a member and are a tenant living in any one of these areas, please call Russell Taylor on 0116 454 2496 or send an email.
