Summer Reading Challenge
Take part in The Reading Agency’s free digital Summer Reading Challenge 2020! Celebrate funny books, happiness and laughter and join the Silly Squad, an adventurous team of animals who love to have a laugh and get stuck into all sorts of funny books! Suitable for ages 4-11 years.
Let's Get Silly
The 2020 Challenge has launched with a virtual ‘Let’s Get Silly!’ programme running from the Summer Reading Challenge’s Facebook page. The launch will feature special readings, family activities and draw-a-longs from guest celebrities and authors.
Watch a great video of Leicester Patron of Reading and local children’s author Steve Skidmore on YouTube, introducing this year’s Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge and showing you around the website.
Get Up and Go
Get Up and Go is back this summer with an online programme of fun activities for you to try at home. There’s a poster and certificate that you can use to get inspired and rewarded for your efforts! Download all you need to take part on our families website.
Libraries from home
Although library buildings are closed, you can still borrow lots of eBooks and eComics for free online, go to our Libraries from home page to find out more.
If you are already a Leicester libraries member, use your library card number and PIN to borrow books. If you are not yet a member, join a library now - it's easy!
