Electric vehicle charging points
As part of our key actions outlined in the Air Quality Action Plan, we want to encourage residents of Leicester to invest in electric vehicles. After taking your views from our survey, we will be running a trial installation of electric vehicle charging points on residential streets.
We will shortly be running a trial installation of electric vehicle charging points on residential streets – primarily for the benefit of residents in the areas concerned.
The location of the trial sites has been determined by a survey which identified residents interested in such facilities.
There are already around 150 public charging points available at council and other car parks across the city. We hope this trial will encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles.
We expect the first charging points for residential streets to be installed this summer, and anticipate further installations by March 2020. More details will be available on this page as the scheme progresses.
