Ashton Green is central to our plans for lowering Leicester’s carbon footprint, and becoming Britain’s sustainable city.
What is a sustainable urban extension?
Sustainable communities are places where people want to live and work, now and in the future. it caters to a wide range needs of existing and future residents, and it is sensitive to its environment. Contributing to a high quality of life.
Sustainable communities are safe and inclusive. They are well planned, built and run; offering equality of opportunity and good services for all.
Why will Ashton Green be different?
Aston Green will be an ongoing process of consultation. With the local community that will influence the delivery.
What is driving the need for housing growth in Leicester?
The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) sets out the Government’s planning policies for England. One of the main aims of the NPPF is to increase the delivery of new, good quality homes to meet the needs of a growing and ageing population. The Leicester Core Strategy sets out a need for 25,600 new houses in the city between 2006 and 2026.
