Leicester Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). Health and social care needs associated with obesity.
Obesity is defined as an excess accumulation of body fat that presents a risk to health. It is a major public health issue and is associated with a range of health conditions including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancer, liver disease, and depression and anxiety.
The following chapter details the level of need in the population, current services in place, project service use, any service gaps and recommendations for commissioners.
