Organisations that can help with information and advice

If you are struggling to understand Adult Social Care information or processes, you can contact the following organisations who may be able to help you.

  • Citizens Advice LeicesterShire
    General advice on welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment, immigration, family issues and community care.
    Phone 0300 330 1025 to get information over the phone or email.

  • Community Advice and Law Service
    Provides Specialist Debt Advice and Specialist Housing Advice including case work linked to appeals.

  • Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland
    Provides free independent, confidential information and advice to people over 50.
    Address: Clarence House, 46 Humberstone Gate, Leicester, LE1 3PJ.
    Drop in: Monday – Friday: 11am - 4pm.

    Age UK also operate the Leicester Carers Support Service, which provides information to anyone over the age of 18, who is looking after someone who could not manage without help.
  • Mosaic; shaping disability service
    Delivers information and services that disabled people want; services that promote inclusion, equality, independence, choice, empowerment, respect and dignity.

    Provides support and services for adults with an acquired or traumatic brain injury.

  • Adhar Project - Support for Asian people in the community
    Offers support to adults with mental health difficulties , young carers ages 8 to 18 (mental health), young and adult carers of adults with learning disabilities, families and carers of people experiencing complex mental health difficulties.
