It's your Neighbourhood and in Bloom
Green Streets, Better Lives is a three year plan to transform the UK’s grey and unloved sites into green havens for people and wildlife.
We're supporting groups across Leicester to help them improve their neighbourhoods.
More than 30 volunteer groups in Leicester have already made a start. They have been creating displays of flowers on our streets, greening up neglected and disused patches of land, growing edible produce and sharing it with the community.
New members are always welcome. You can also get a group of four or more people together you can start a new project. Any neglected space can be converted into a community garden, an alley transformed into a community meeting place, or simply get together to improve a front garden.
All registered groups have access to horticultural and funding advice from our experts. You will be invited to free informal meetings with guest speakers and gardening demonstrations where you can gain gardening knowledge and meet new friends. In July the Midlands in Bloom assessors and judges visit and give advice. Every group receives their RHS certificate at the annual awards ceremony
If this sounds interesting, visit the national RHS Britain in Bloom and the East Midlands in Bloom websites for more information or call us for a no obligation chat. We are always interested to hear your ideas so please get in touch. We recruit up at the end of April for each current year.
