There are two types of public rights of way – footpaths, for use by walkers; and bridleways, for use by walkers, equestrians and cyclists.

We are required to maintain an up-to-date definitive map of public rights of way.

The map shows paths that are known to legally exist. However, paths not shown on the map may also be public rights of way.
