Expressions of interest in affordable housing

If you are interested in providing affordable housing in Leicester, you should contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.

Availability of resources

Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) Bid Round 2015-2018

  1. Firm route (named sites)
  2. Mixed route (unnamed sites)
  3. Ongoing continuous engagement (named sites)

Land and buildings

On land provided at a discount, all houses need to meet the following requirements:

  • Nominations: 100 per cent on first lets and 100 per cent in perpetuity
  • Code 3 for sustainable homes: All homes to be built to this standard.

Affordable housing grant

We have funds to contribute towards selected schemes both on private and public land, subject to availability, and developers meeting certain conditions. This grant cannot be used with homes and communities funds.

  • Payback clause: Payback calculated over a 30 year period, decreasing each year in the event the units are no longer affordable housing
  • Nominations: 100 per cent on first lets and 100 per cent in perpetuity
  • Code 3 for sustainable homes: All homes to be built to this standard.

Privately owned sites and buildings

We welcome discussions on any sites or conversions within the city.
