The Dawn Centre
The Dawn Centre project provides temporary accommodation, support, advice and assistance on housing health, life skills and education for homeless people.
The centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, but different services are open at different times of the day.
The centre is in Conduit Street, near the railway station. It has 42 rooms, including two double rooms, and six rooms for disabled people. There is also a complex needs flat. Facilities include television lounges, an IT suite, activities room, dining room, quiet rooms and a small garden.
Staying at the Dawn Centre
You must be at least 18 years old to stay at the centre, and there is no upper age limit.
If you stay at the centre you will have to pay towards the costs for fuel, light and water charges, as well as for three meals that are provided each day. You will be told how much you have to pay when you are referred.
You will need to bring any personal items you need for your stay. The centre operates a strict no alcohol rule.
