Independent remuneration panel
The law requires that all councils periodically appoint an Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP) to consider the allowances paid to their elected members.
We agreed to set up an IRP to conduct a review for Leicester at our full council meeting on 13 June 2019. The IRP has since held a series of meetings and has presented its final report, which is attached below.
The report of the IRP was due to be considered at the full council meeting on 19 March 2020, but has been deferred. When considered, Councillors will have the choice to accept in full, accept in part or reject the recommendations of the IRP.
