Police and Crime Commissioner election 2016

An election to appoint a Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Leicestershire and Rutland took place on Thursday 5 May 2016. Willy Bach (Labour) was elected with 78,188 votes.

The candidates

The candidates were Willy Bach (Labour), Neil Durban Bannister (The Conservative Party Candidate), Sarah Hill (Liberal Democrat) and David Sprason (UK Independence Party - UKIP).

First preference vote

Total number of first preference votes for Leicester city were Willy Bach 38,867, Neil Durban Bannister 8,833, Sarah Hill 3,301 and David Sprason 3,819.

Second preference vote

Total number of second preference votes for Leicester city were Willy Bach 2,366 and Neil Durban Bannister 1,699.

Votes cast in Leicester

56,388 votes were cast in person and by post. Turn out was 24.42% of the electorate for Leicester city.
