Frequently asked questions about jobs
We are asked a range of questions by people applying for jobs. Please read this section before contacting us with any queries about your application.
Quick links
Do you accept CVs?
No. We need to have a fully completed application form so that our process is fair to all applicants and the same criteria are taken into account. However, a CV may be acceptable if it is a specific requirement on the job vacancy.
Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
Yes. You will need to complete a separate application for each post, which has the post reference number and title included on it. Your personal details will automatically be populated with the information provided.
Can I apply for a job share?
Yes. You can indicate this preference on the application form. Should you be successful after interview then your preference will be considered.
Do I have to disclose a criminal record?
This depends on the post that you are applying for and whether or not it is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Clear guidance is given for each vacancy. Certain posts which involve working directly with children or vulnerable adults would require disclosure of convictions otherwise considered spent.
How do I apply?
If you are interested in a job you can apply online using the quick link at the top of this page. You will need to register first with an email address.
How will I know if you have received my application form?
You will receive an automated email confirming receipt of your application. Please check that the automated email has not gone in your junk mail folder before contacting us.
How can I receive email alerts for future jobs?
You can register your details to receive an automated email alert for any job that matches your requirements by clicking the ‘add email alert’ link on the login page.
How do I know if I have I been shortlisted?
If you have not heard from us within 10 days you should assume that you have been unsuccessful. You can also track your application online and you will be given as much notice as possible if invited for a test or interview.
How can I request feedback?
If you have not been shortlisted you can contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.
What pre employment checks are required?
This depends on the post you have applied for. References, a medical assessment, a DBS check (formerly called a CRB check), qualifications and proof of eligibility to work in the UK are required for most roles.
How much will I get paid?
The salary range for the post is as advertised and will be confirmed in your contract.
When will I get paid?
All employees are paid on the penultimate working day of each month. The only exception to this is in December, when you may receive your pay earlier in the month.
Can I join the pension scheme at the start of my employment?
Yes. You will need to complete a pension form and this will be sent to you with your contract.
