Swim Leicester
Swimming is a great way to exercise. Our pools are available to all, regardless of age or ability. We run adult and children lessons, pool exercise classes and public swimming sessions.

COVID-19 information
In order to maintain the safety of our customers and staff, we need to undertake certain measures, meaning that your experience at our centres might be a little bit different. Here are some of the things we are introducing to keep you safe:
- Booking and payment in advance are essential
- Screens at reception desks and helpful information signage throughout our centres
- Increased cleaning and hygiene measures across leisure centres
- Social distancing to be observed at all times
Changes to our pools
Our current swim offer consists of lane swimming and general swimming. Some of the changes being made to the pool include:
- Booking and payment in advance are essential
- Sessions will be bookable in 60-minute slots, with the pool being cleared after 45 minutes to allow time for people to change and exit the changing rooms before the next session starts
- Reduced capacities based on Swim England guidance
- Customers should arrive wearing swim wear under loose clothing and change quickly
- Spectating is not permitted
- Equipment cannot be lent out, but you may bring your own training aids, floats, arm bands, small toys and sinkers
- Customers who intend to use disabled changing facilities or hoist are advised to ring the centre ahead of their visit
- Only one swimming session per day is permitted, so everyone can utilise the facilities
- Customers should wipe down any cubicles or lockers they have used with sanitiser provided
- All customers are advised to change as quickly as possible after swimming, and to shower and dry hair at home
Changes to lane swimming
Information for lane swimming:
- Double-width lanes, with a maximum of 10 swimmers per lane
- Customers must swim in the same direction
- Swimmers must be 16 years old and over
- No overtaking while swimming
- When briefly resting, please use the end of the lane and face away from other swimmers as they pass
- Water bottles are not permitted to be left at the end of a lane
- Social distancing to be maintained within lanes

- Available to all age groups
- All customers must maintain a social distance away from other people not within their group
Please book any sessions or classes in advance, to avoid disappointment. In order to book, you will need to be an Active Leicester member. We also advise that members pay in advance to save any unnecessary contact on arrival. When you come to our centres, please arrive in appropriate clothing (‘beach-ready’ if you are coming to swim) as our changing rooms may be unavailable.
