Climb Leicester
Our climbing centre is located at Leicester Leys Leisure Centre, a few miles outside the city centre. We offer both roped climbing and bouldering.
Climb Leicester remains closed
Following government guidance this site will remain closed until further notice. As soon as we are able to reopen, we will let you know. Please refer to our FAQs for more information.
COVID-19 information
In order to maintain the safety of our customers and staff, we need to undertake certain measures, meaning that your experience at our centres might be a little bit different. Here are some of the things we are introducing to keep you safe:
- Online booking and payment are essential
- Screens at reception desks and helpful information signage throughout our centres
- Increased cleaning and hygiene measures across leisure centres
- Social distancing to be observed at all times
What’s changed at the climbing centre?
- Wall capacity has been reduced to ensure social distancing
- Customers must maintain social distancing of 2m from other wall users (every other panel when climbing or belaying)
- Sessions will be time limited (see booking page for more details)
- Only customers who have already completed an Active Leicester climbing competency assessment/induction are allowed to book
- Hand sanitising stations are located around the climbing wall and must be used throughout your session
- Customers must arrive ready to climb and will not be able to change at the centre
- One-way corridor system
- Water fountains will not be available so please bring a water bottle with you
Book in advance
Please book any sessions or classes in advance, to avoid disappointment. In order to book, you will need to be an Active Leicester member. We also advise that members pay in advance to save any unnecessary contact on arrival. When you come to our centres, please arrive in appropriate clothing (‘beach-ready’ if you are coming to swim) as our changing rooms may be unavailable.

Please note: instructor ratios do apply as follows; 1:10 for over 7s including adults; *1:6 for under 7s. For more bespoke coached sessions we recommend a maximum ration of 1:6.
