Infection Control Fund
In May 2020, the government announced an additional £600 million nationally to support providers through a new adult social care infection control fund.
What is the fund for?
The purpose of this fund is to support adult social care providers, including those who don’t have a contract with us, to reduce the rate of COVID-19 transmission in and between care homes and support wider workforce resilience.
More details and guidance about the funding can be found at GOV.UK.
Who is eligible?
If you deliver care and support to someone in the city that isn’t a contracted service you may wish to take advantage of this grant fund. The fund can help support your activities in providing care and support to residents who live within the boundaries of Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council.
How do I apply?
To apply, use the relevant email address below to send us the following information by Wednesday 22 July 2020:
- For domiciliary packages you support: please capture weekly visits per client.
- For Supported Living services (Leicester City only) you supply: please capture the hours per week for each client you support.
For GDPR purposes, please only use the first 4 components of the postcode – this allows us to verify the address but not identify the person.
For example:

- Client 2 LE3 5 - 7 visits per week
- Client 3 LE5 4 – 15 hours per week
Please only include those people who buy their own care and support from you, using their own money privately or via a direct payment. We do not need any other personal details for these clients.
