The Central Library is currently closed whilst our staff provide support to other council services in response to coronavirus (COVID-19) in Leicester.

Specific to Central Library
This library has some services and materials which are only available here. These are as follows:
- Electoral register (full version) for Leicester (all libraries have the local register)
- Access to Ancestry Online libraries edition
- Law and legislation including UK Acts of Parliament (predating all acts being available online)
- Stretton Collection: books and memorabilia relating to British railway development from the 19th Century (Available to view by prior arrangement)
- Microfiche and microfilm reader printer
- Colour Photocopier
Computers and internet
Accessibility
The library is on two floors, accessible via a lift or stairs. It has a wide front entrance with an accessible entrance with ramp adjacent to the main entrance. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor for use with a Radar key. We also have large keys keyboards and trackballs.
For Children and Young People
- Children's books for all ages, from babies to young adults
- Toddler Time every Friday 10am - 12 noon
